Gender Equality Index 2020

Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie, France, March 4, 2020

Groupe Beneteau announces for its 3 French subsidiaries their scores relating to the French index of equality between women and men FY2018-19:

  • 88/100 for BIO Habitat
  • 79/100 for SPBI S.A.
  • 77/100 for Construction Navale Bordeaux

Indicators

The Gender Equality Index measures wage gaps between women and men to end the unjustified pay gaps between women and men in France.

The five indicators used by the French Government to construct the index and their respective weighting are:

  • the pay gap
  • the difference in the distribution of pay increases
  • the spread of promotions
  • the percentage of employees receiving a pay increase on their return from maternity leave
  • the number of women and men in the company top 10 wages

Women in Groupe Beneteau

Women represent 27.8% of the workforce of the Groupe Beneteau (France, United States, Poland, Italy), an increase in share compared to the previous year when they were 26.5% of the total workforce. This breakdown is consistent with data published by the French national statistics office (INSEE) for the manufacturing industry.

Groupe Beneteau ensures that gender equality is respected through a benchmarked and detailed annual analysis, working with its employee representative partners, concerning the situations for men and women. Following this analysis, specific action plans have been rolled out to ensure gender equality.

The BIO Habitat subsidiary signed a newgender equality agreement in June 2018. The action plan, based on this agreement, is currently being rolled out. It sets targets for recruiting women and covers various aspects, including a process for managing returns from periods of leave, as well as actions to reduce pay and promotion gaps.
